Mini-Golf Location - Public Survey Results Presentation
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
To present results from survey regarding public preferences between two parcels at Buckroe for a mini-golf course, as requested by Council September 25, 2024.
Discussion:
As part of the initial Parks Master Planning process, a mini-golf course was identified as a desired amenity and attraction in Hampton by the public. Considering available space and the history of a popular mini-golf course at the former Buckroe Amusement Park, locations were identified by staff for such a course at Buckroe Beach & Park. On September 25, 2024, Council was presented with options pre-vetted for Buckroe Master Plan alignment and zoning/easement considerations. Two preferred locations were identified, with a request by Council to poll the public from there on which one of those two is preferred. This presentation is to review findings from that public survey, to help further-refine guidance so that staff work can continue.
Impact:
Guidance from survey results will allow staff work to continue for further easement considerations.
