Resolution Authorizing the Transfer From the City of Hampton to Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority of the Following Properties: Three Unaddressed Parcels on Grant Street, Identified as LRSNs 13002697, 13005365, and 13005364; One Unaddressed Parcel on Briarfield Road, Identified as LRSN 13005433; and 406 Settlers Landing Road, Identified as LRSN 2001959
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The City owns those certain parcels of land identified as LRSNs 13002697, 13005365, and 13005364 (three unaddressed parcels on Grant Street); LRSN 13005433 (one unaddressed parcel on Briarfield Road); and LRSN 2001959 (406 Settlers Landing Road). The City Council has designated HRHA as the agency to implement the City's Community Plan as it relates to residential development and development with residential components. Additionally, HRHA provides general development assistance to the City with respect to residential housing. Transferring the Property to HRHA is consistent with these policies and practices.

WHEREAS, the City of Hampton (“City”) owns those certain parcels of land, being identified as LRSNs 13002697, 13005365, and 13005364 (three unaddressed parcels on Grant Street); LRSN 13005433 (one unaddressed parcel on Briarfield Road); and LRSN 2001959 (406 Settlers Landing Road) (together, the "City Properties”);
WHEREAS, the City Council has designated HRHA as the agency to implement the City’s Community Plan as it relates to residential development and development with residential components and HRHA provides general development assistance to the City with respect to residential housing;
WHEREAS, the City accordingly desires to transfer title to the City Properties to HRHA; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been conducted in accordance with Section 15.2-1800 et seq. of the Code of Virginia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia, as follows:
1. That it approves the transfers to HRHA of the City Properties for residential development, development with residential components, and general development purposes with respect to residential housing.
2. That the City Manager or her authorized designee and the Clerk be and are authorized to execute and deliver to HRHA any and all necessary legal documents, in a form deemed satisfactory to the City Attorney, to effectuate the transfers of the City Properties to HRHA, and to perform other such actions as may be necessary or desirable for the purposes identified herein and that may be necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution.
