Title

Resolution of Support of Application to the Virginia Department of Transportation for an Allocation of Funds Up to $2,500,000 from the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Fiscal Year 2027-2028 Revenue Sharing Program and Authorization for the City Manager to Execute Necessary Agreements for the Settlers Landing Road Project

Purpose

The City of Hampton has identified a new candidate project for the Virginia Department of Transportation’s (“VDOT’s”) Revenue Sharing program, which is funded on a 50% state and 50% local share basis. The Settlers Landing Road Project would improve vehicular and pedestrian safety by providing consistent lane widths and geometry, ADA- compliant ramps and crossings, and corridor lighting between Eaton Street and Bridge Street.  The project will also replace the signal poles at the Bridge Street intersection.  There is a planned local match placeholder in the City's FY 2026 Capital Improvement Plan for this project area.
