Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The City owns property located at 1911 W. Pembroke Avenue (LRSN 1003141) (the “Property”), which is the site for the new Hampton Fire Station #3. To provide water services to the new fire station, the City of Newport News, Virginia requests a 4,637 ± square foot, or 0.1065 ± acre, easement for locating, placing, laying and maintaining water mains, pipes, laterals and appurtenances through, along the strip of land on the Property as depicted on the Plat of a Water Main Easement Projecting onto #1911 Pembroke Avenue Hereby Conveyed to the City of Newport News, Virginia from the City of Hampton, Virginia attached to the Deed of Easement for Water Pipeline. City staff recommends approval of the easement.

This item is exempt from the public hearing requirement under § 15.2-1800(B).

WHEREAS, the City of Hampton (“City”) is the owner of a certain parcel of property designated as 1911 W. Pembroke Avenue (LRSN 1003141) (the “Property”);

WHEREAS, the City is constructing the new Hampton Fire Station #3 on the Property;

WHEREAS, the City’s project requires water services to the Property which the City of Newport News, Virginia has agreed to provide in exchange for an easement over the area where the water pipeline will be located;
