Council Discussion on Procedure for Filling a Council Vacancy
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
Councilwoman Snead was elected Treasurer on Tuesday, November 2nd. She assumes office on January 1st, at which time her position on the Council will become vacant. The Hampton City Charter provides that the City Council shall appoint a replacement who will serve until the next general election, which will be held on November 8, 2022. The Council will discuss the procedure by which it will go about fulfilling this responsibility.
