Resolution Approving Fiscal Year 2016 Third Quarter Budget Adjustments
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The City Charter requires City Council to approve any appropriations transferred from one department to another department and any appropriation of additional revenues or reduction in revenues.
Discussion:
The attached represents budget adjustments required for the third quarter of this fiscal year. The adjustments which require Council notification will be sent to Council under separate cover. Most of the adjustments requiring Council approval relate to transfering sufficient funds to departments to cover the 3% general wage increase as well as the impact of the salary scale adjustments as recommended in the pay study presented to Council earlier this year. As you will recall, any pay increases are budgeted in Employee Retirement and Benefits and transferred to departments durring the year, typically with the third quarter budget adjustments. Overtime in the Fire Department is also covered in Employee Retirement and Benefits and is included in their transfer.
Impact:
There is no fiscal impact to the recommended action.
