Consideration of appointments to the Virginia Living Museum Board of Trustees
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
Councilman Donnie Tuck has been serving as the appointee to this entity. It was discussed at the Council meeting of June 8, 2016, and additional information was desired on the nature of the role of this appointment.
The Virginia Living Museum has both a Board of Advisors and a Board of Trustees. The appointee from the Hampton City Council serves as a non-voting liaison to the Board of Trustees. It is described as a liaison and communication role. The appointment requested is for a one year term beginning July 1, 2016, and ending on June 30, 2017. Typically the Mayor is not the appointee but rather a member of the City Council.
An orientation is scheduled for August 4, 2016, at the Virginia Living Museum from noon until 4 p.m. Additionally the quarterly meeting schedule for this year is as follows:
September 21, 2016 - 5:30 - 6:45 p.m. at the Virginia Living Museum
January 18, 2017 - 5:30 - 6:45 p.m. at the Virginia Living Museum
March 15, 2017 - 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Off-site retreat (location to be determined)
June 14, 2017 - 5:30 - 6:45 p.m. at the Virginia Living Museum (annual meeting)
