Consideration of Appointments to the Virginia Municipal League 2026 Policy Committees
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
Virginia Municipal League (VML) has five policy committees that meet in July to learn about current issues, review current VML policy positions, revise current positions, propose new positions, and recommend issues for consideration bvy VML's legislative committee. Nominations are being accepted until May 15, 2026, and up to two individuals may be appointed to each policy committee. Meeting dates and times will be announced later.
Hampton's current representatives are:
Community and Economic Development - Carolyn Campbell and Hope Harper
Finance - Martha Mugler
General Laws - Jimmy Gray
Human Development and Education - Steve Brown
Infrastructure - Randy Bowman
Nominations for the 2026 committees are due by May 16, 2026. Council is being asked to consider and name the 2026 nominees.
