PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
Pearl I. Young granted funds in her last will and testament to the City of Hampton, Virginia to provide benches at bus stops for the comfort and convenience of those that use that mode of transportation.

It is recommended that Council approve this Resolution, thereby honoring the wishes of Pearl Young and providing benches for the citizens of Hampton through her generous final bequest.

WHEREAS, Pearl I. Young granted funds in her last will and testament to the City of Hampton, Virginia to provide benches at bus stops for the comfort and convenience of those that use that mode of transportation; and
WHEREAS, the Coliseum Central Business Improvement District, Inc. has plans to purchase and install bus benches for bus shelters located throughout the Coliseum Central Area; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAMPTON, VIRGINIA: that the sum of $67,500 is hereby appropriated from Pearl Young Fund Restricted Fund Balance to reimburse the Coliseum Central Business Improvement District, Inc. for the purchase and installation of bus benches for bus shelters located in the Coliseum Central Area.
