Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The City Council received the City Manager's Recommended Operating and Capital Budgets ("Manager's Recommended Budget") on Friday, April 15, 2016.


Discussion:
Council received the Manager’s Recommended Budget on Friday, April 15th. A special work session was held the afternoon of April 27, 2016. A public hearing will be held during the legislative session on April 27, 2016 to give Council the opportunity to receive citizens' comments relative to the Manager's Recommended Budget. A second public hearing will be held on May 4, 2016. These public hearings were duly advertised in the Daily Press on April 17, 2016. Subsequent work sessions will be held on May 4, 2016 and May 11, 2016 for Council to consider comments received from citizens and additional information requested by Council. The first reading of all budget ordinances will be on May 4, 2016 and the second reading and final approval will be on May 11, 2016.
