Purpose
Background Statement:
The applicant is requesting a Use Permit within the LImited Commercial (C-2) District to operate a Pawn Shop. There is a commercial plaza with three retail units adjacent to the bowling center at 1519 E Pembroke Avenue. The applicant is proposing to renovate one of these 1,500 square foot retail units into a pawn shop with approximately 1,000 square feet of space utilized for the display of merchandise. The business would operate from 10 am until 6 pm, Monday through Saturday. It is anticipated the business will create two (2) new jobs. Signage would be provided on the existing marquee directly above the retail unit and in the shared sign cabinet along E Pembroke Avenue.
