Resolution Accepting and Appropriating Funds for the 2017 Children Services Act for At-Risk Youth and Families (formerly Comprehensive Services Act for At-Risk Youth and Families)

 

Purpose

PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

 

Discussion:

This program combined annual appropriations that previously went to Social Services, the Hampton City Schools and Juvenile Court Services for serving families with children either at high risk of out-of-home placement or already in such placements due to their specialized academic and/or behavior needs.  It is administered by a Community Policy and Management Teams made up of directors, vendors, parent representative and other community members.

 

Impact:

Funds Pool:  $7,500,000 of which $2,417,250 is required City of Hampton local match.

Administrative Allocation:  $50,000 of which $16,115 is required City of Hampton local match.

Total appropriaton:  $7,550,000; total local share $2,433,365

                      BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia that the toal Children Services Act for At-Risk Youth and Families Pool funds in the amount of $7,550,000 be appropriated for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2016 and ending June 30, 2017.  In addition, the City Council accepts any additional supplemental revenues from the state and Madicaid for the Funds Pool, subject to the availability of local match.
