Update on the Strategic Plan
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this presentation is to provide City Council with an update on the progress of the City’s Strategic Plan refresh. The Strategic Plan, developed through extensive community and stakeholder engagement, serves as the framework for aligning City operations, investments, and initiatives with the Community's priorities.
Staff have recently reconvened stakeholder groups for each Strategic Focus Area to review the draft goals and strategies, identify areas for clarification or modernization, and address input from subject matter experts and department heads.
Discussion:
This presentation will highlight the process undertaken to re-engage stakeholders, summarize key updates to each Strategic Focus Area, and outline the next steps in the adoption process. These include a community checkpoint meeting scheduled for January 22 and final adoption of the updated plan by City Council in February.
Impact:
The Strategic Plan serves as a guiding document for policy, budgeting, and performance management, ensuring that departmental initiatives are tied directly to Community's priorities.
