Title

Consideration of Appointments to the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA)

Purpose

PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

Travis Rhodes submitted his resignation.  Council is being asked to recommend, for appointment, an individual to complete the portion of Travis Rhodes' term expiring on December 31, 2028.  The Board has recommended that Council select Alesia Miller, who is currently serving as an alternate.

If Council concurs, that will create a vacancy for the remainder of Ms. Miller's term, and Council is being asked to recommend for appointment an individual to fill the unexpired portion of her term as an alternate until October 31, 2027.

Joy Kirch-Kelling has served a partial term and is eligible for reappointment to another term.  Council is being asked to recommend that she be reappointed to serve a first full term until December 31, 2030.

There are individuals in the Board Bank who have expressed a desire to serve on this board. Those applications are being provided to Council.

Council is being asked for their recommendation to send to the Hampton Circuit Court.

Members of this board shall hold no other public office in the City except that one may be a member of the Planning Commission
