2026 General Assembly Legislative Priorities
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
Council annually begins its discussions on its legislative priorities for the next General Assembly Session with an open discussion at an afternoon work session. Ed Reed, a representative from the City's lobbyist, Two Capitols Consulting, will be present to summarize carryover issues and new matters raised by department heads, City Management, and Council members, as well as to help facilitate the Council discussion. Following this meeting, based on the guidance received from Council, staff and Two Capitols Consulting will work together to present a proposed legislative program for Council's review and approval at the October 22 or November 13, 2025, City Council meeting.
