Resolution Naming Rooms in the Fox Hill Neighborhood Center

Purpose

PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

The Fox Hill Neighborhood Center (Center), in accordance with a Use Agreement with the City of Hampton who owns the subject property located at 65 Hall Road, has opened for programming.  The Fox Hill Neighborhood Center Board has requested authority to name rooms in the Center instead of using numbers to identify them.  This is being done to facilitate participants in program and activities of the Center locating the room in which their activity and also to add local character to the Center.

Participants in small group tours of the building were asked for suggested room names and the Center's executive committee, through a consensus process, identified room names for the City’s consideration.  The Director of Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services concurs with the requested action of City Council.

Discussion:

This change is being requested in conformance with past practices of naming items in and on neighborhood center properties and will cause no additional financial implications or costs to the City.

Recommendation:

Rec

Council is being requested to approve the naming of rooms as set forth in the proposed resolution.
