Title

Ordinance to Amend and Reenact the City Code of the City of Hampton, Virginia by Amending Chapter 2, Administration, Article I, In General, Sec. 2-7 to Remove the Requirement that the City Seal be Placed on all Municipal Vehicles

Purpose

PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

Currently the City ordinance requires that the City Seal be placed on all municipal vehicles.  City staff desires the option to place an alternate logo approved by the City Manager on the municipal vehicles.  The City's Risk Management Division is in the process of developing a City vehicle use policy which will require that all vehicles, except those approved by the City Manager and unmarked police vehicles, be marked with the city seal or a city logo approved by the City Manager or their designee.  If approved, this would be covered by City policy moving forward, rather than by ordinance.

Recommendation:

Rec

Approve the Amendment.
