Resolution to Amend the Fiscal Year 2026 Council Approved Budget to Appropriate $11,240.65 from the General Fund’s Fund Balance (Bluebird Gap Farm Vending Feed Revenue) to the Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Services Budget

 

Purpose

PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

Bluebird Gap Farm maintains vending machine feeders that generate revenue specifically restricted for animal feed purchases. These revenues, totaling $11,240.65, are currently held in the City’s General Fund Fund Balance . This resolution appropriates those funds into the Parks Recreation Leisure Services operating budget  for animal feed at Bluebird Gap Farm.

Impact:

 

This action will increase both General Fund revenues and expenditures by $11,240.65. There is no net impact to the General Fund’s balance, as the appropriation is revenue-backed.

WHEREAS, the City of Hampton maintains vending machine feeders at Bluebird Gap Farm, generating revenues restricted for animal feed; 

 

WHEREAS, the revenues, totaling $11,240.65, are currently held in the General Fund’s Fund Balance; 

 

WHEREAS, these funds are to be used exclusively for the purchase of animal feed at Bluebird Gap Farm; 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia that the Fiscal Year 2026 City Council Approved Budget is hereby amended to appropriate $11,240.65 from the General Fund’s Fund Balance to the Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Services Operating Budget for the purpose of supporting animal feed purchases at Bluebird Gap Farm.
