Resolution appropriating $126,653.86 from the designated fund balance of FY16 Fees-Ambulance Service to Division of Fire & Rescue's current FY17 budget to purchase much needed equipment for fire/ems operations and fire stations

 

Purpose

The excess FY16 Fees-Ambulance Service will be used for the following:

 

1. Replacement of outboard motors for the Fireboat ($43,883.31)

2. Matching Funds towards a 50/50 Rescue Squad Assistance Fund (RSAF) Grant ($16,705.50). The grant is for 14 each Lifepak 1000 AEDs that will replace the old Lifepak 500s that are no longer able to be placed on maintenance contracts as there are no parts to repair them.

3. Thirty tablet computers to support Fire-EMS training and apparatus inventory system ($15,000)

4. Ten rugged tablets to support Fire Inspections and Pre-Planning ($20,000)

5. Two replacement commercial range/ovens for Fire Stations 1 & 10 that are over 20 years old ($8,000)

6. Renovate kitchens at Fire Stations 6 & 1 and repair logistic's storage shed at Fire Station 9 ($15,000)

7. Station furniture/fixture replacement ($8,065.05)

Approve and appropriate $126,653.86 from the designated fund balance of FY16 Fees-Ambulance Service to Division of Fire & Rescue's current FY17 budget to purchase needed equipment.

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia, hereby certifies that $126,653.86 be approved and appropriated from the designated fund balance of FY16 Fees-Ambulance Service to the Division of Fire & Rescue's current FY17 budget to puchase much needed equipment for fire/ems operations and fire stations.
