Briefing on efforts the Police Division has achieved in combatting "Guns, Gangs and Drugs" throughout the city.

 

 

Purpose

PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

Provide Council with an overview of the Police Division's efforts in combatting the Guns, Gangs and Drugs throughout the City in addition to outlining resources needed to sustain and enhance the Division's crime fighting efforts.

 

 

Discussion:

 

Chief Sult along with Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, Amy Cross, Maj. Kenneth Ferguson and Maj. Orrin Gallop will be presenting the Police Division's efforts on what has been done thus far to combat guns, gangs and drugs at both the federal and state levels as well as the impact these efforts have made throughout the City.  Resources that are still needed will also be addressed and discussed in detail.

 

 

Impact:

 

To demonstrate to City Council and the Citizens that the Police Division is professionally fighting crime to keep Hampton safe for our citizens, visitors and patrons who live, work and play within its borders; while also defining resources that are needed to continue the momentum in fighting these issues.
