Briefing on the Hampton Roads Crossing Study
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
City Council will receive briefings from the Executive Director of the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) and Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Commission (HRTAC), regarding the next steps for moving forward with a new Hampton Roads Crossing (HRC). The schedule moving forward is for Council to identify which of the four alternatives studied would be the City's "Preferred Alternative" at its October 12, 2016 meeting. The HRTPO will discuss the HRC alternatives at its October 20, 2016 meeting. HRTPO will endorse the region's preferred alternative that will be recommended to the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) at its November 17, 2016 meeting. The CTB (which has the final say) will select the preferred alternative at its December 6/7, 2016 meetings.
