Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The I Value Budget Presentations serve as opportunities for Hampton residents to express their budget preferences during a series of three public meetings and an online survey.
This presentation serves to introduce the process and encourage participation.
Dates, times and locations for I Value public meetings are Tuesday, March 18, 6:30 pm at Hampton Virginia Aquaplex and Saturday, March 22, 9:00 am at The American Theatre. There will be an online streamed Facebook Live session on Thursday, March 20 at 6:30 pm. The online survey will be available at Hampton.Gov on March 18 - 25.
Discussion:
The I Value public budget meetings serve as opportunities for Hampton residents to express their preferences for prioritization of the fiscal budget. The public meeting and online survey include the presentation of proposed capital and operating budget requests. Fiscal implications are substantial, as public input serves to inform the City Manager and members of Council on the public perception of specific projects and associated costs.
