Consideration of Appointments to the Virginia Municipal League 2024 Policy Committees
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
Virginia Municipal League (VML) has five policy committees that meet in July to learn about current issues, review current VML policy positions, revise current positions, propose new positions, and recommend issues for consideration bvy VML's legislative committee. Nominations are being accepted until May 24, 2024, and up to two individuals may be appointed to each policy committee. Meeting dates and times will be announced soon and all meetings will be held by Zoom.
Hampton's last representatives were:
Billy Hobbs - Community and Economic Development
Eleanor Brown - Environmental Quality (NOTE: This committee no longer exists.)
Michelle Ferebee - Finance
Chris Bowman- General Laws
Steve Brown - Human Development and Education
Jimmy Gray - Transportation (Renamed Infrastrure)
Nominations for the 2024 committees are due by May 24. Council is being asked to consider and name the 2024 nominees.
