Title
Revised Planning Commission Bylaws - First Reading
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The Bylaws of the Planning Commission have not been revised since 2017. City Council has requested that attendance policies in all City boards and commissions be unified, requiring amendment of the Bylaws. In addition, the City Attorney's Office has proposed further edits to improve clarity and legal sufficiency. The Commission has also requested an amendment allowing the Commission to move the date of regular meetings occurring the day after a City Council meeting.
Discussion:
The redlined draft attached hereto indicates changes proposed over the previously adopted 2017 bylaws. The clean version contains the same revisions with all tracked changes accepted. The Commission wishes to consider the proposed changes as a “first reading” at its May 21 regular meeting, and may further direct staff to make additional revisions, or move to place the draft bylaws on the June 16 meeting for second reading and adoption.
Impact:
Improved administration of Planning Commission meetings.
