Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

The City owns properties located at 9 Woodland Road (LRSN 12000817) and W. County Street (LRSN 12000815) (the “Properties”). Dominion requests a variable width utility easement totaling 8,599 square feet, more or less, as depicted on the attached aerial photograph, through the Properties to replace the outdated transformer and cable. Dominion is being proactive to try to avoid an unplanned outage in this area in the very near future. Staff recommends approval of the easement under the terms of the attached Right of Way Agreement.

This item is exempt from the public hearing requirement under Va. Code § 15.2-1800(B)(ii).

WHEREAS, the City owns properties located at 9 Woodland Road (LRSN 12000817) and W. County Street (LRSN 12000815) (the “Properties”);

WHEREAS, Dominion requests a variable width utility easement totaling 8,599 square feet, more or less, as depicted on the attached aerial photograph, through the Properties to replace the outdated transformer and cable.

WHEREAS, Dominion is being proactive to try to avoid an unplanned outage in this area in the very near future:

WHEREAS, this item is exempt from the public hearing requirement under Va. Code § 15.2-1800(B)(ii); and

WHEREAS, grant of the utility easement to Dominion is deemed fair and reasonable; and the terms of the Right of Way Agreement, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution, are reasonable and acceptable.
