Ordinance to Amend and Re-Enact the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Hampton, Virginia by Amending Section 3-2 Entitled, “Table of Uses Permitted” to Remove The Uses Of Park/Playground, Active, and Park, Passive/Open Space, And To Add The Uses Park, Private And Park, Public
Purpose
Background Statement:
This amendment adds the new uses of private park and public park, while removing the existing uses of active park and passive park. Private parks are proposed to be permitted in districts in the same way that active and passive parks are currently permitted. Public parks would be permitted by-right in all districts. This amendment is in conjunction with 22-0070 and 22-0071. 22-0071 would add a general provision to govern areas that might otherwise be thought of as a park but that are associated with a development, while 22-0070 would add new definitions of private parks and public parks, and modify some existing definitions related to outdoor areas.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia that Sections 3-2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Hampton, Virginia, be amended to read as follows:
