Purpose
Background Statement:
The applicant, Atlantic Machinery, Inc., proposes the assembly and servicing of specialized street equipment (e.g. street sweepers, jet/vacuums, tv inspection equipment, etc.). Although equipment sales occur at the corporate facility in Silver Spring, MD, equipment would be assembled and serviced at the proposed 2201 Mingee Drive location [LRSN 1000437[, which is within Copeland Industrial Park. Equipment, consisting primarily of street sweepers and jet/vacuums, would be serviced inside the facility at this location.
The Hampton Community Plan (2006, as amended) recommends business/industrial for this location. Design guidelines were established for the Copeland Industrial Park, in which this property sits, to guide development within the park and improve the quality of the park over time.
