Consideration of Appointments to the Citizens' Unity Commission (CUC)
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
Rev. Gretchen Nelson no longer resides in Hampton, and, as such, is not eligible to continue to serve. Council is being asked to appoint an individual to fill the unexpired portion of the term until August 31, 2026.
Erica Spencer has submitted her resignation. Council is being asked to appoint an individual to fill the unexpired portion of the term until June 30, 2025.
Chris Grady, Katrina Bailey and Phyllis Porter have served one term and are eligible for reappointment to another term. Council is being asked to reappoint them each to serve a second term until September 30, 2027.
Brad Young and Dawn Taylor have served partial terms and are eligible for reappointment to another term. Council is being asked to reappoint them to serve their first full terms until September 30, 2027.
Alice Capehart has served two consecutive terms and is not eligible for reappointment. Council is being asked to appoint an individual to serve a first term until September 30, 2027.
One vacancy remains. Council is being asked to appoint an individual to serve a full term until September 30, 2027.
It is recommended that Jabari Colon be removed from this body due to lack of participation. Council is being asked to appoint an individual to serve a first term until September 30, 2027.
There are individuals in the Board Bank who have expressed a desire to serve on this board. Those applications are being provided to Council.
