Briefing on Outdoor Special Event Permits
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
This briefing is to help educate Council and the public on the process and necessity of obtaining a Special Event permit when their outdoor events reach certain thresholds.
Discussion:
As restrictions are being lifted related to the pandemic, people are naturally seeking ways to come together socially. As more events are beginning to be planned in the community, now is an appropriate time to remind and educate the community on the City’s Outdoor Special Event Permit process.
Impact:
Clarifying the process and educating the public will help bolster the safety and success of mid-to-large scale events that happen in the City.
