Purpose

PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

 

Jack Pope's term ended on December 31, 2021, and he is eligible to be recommended to the Circuit Court for reappointment.

 

UPDATE FOR FEBRUARY 9, 2022:

 

Rev. Joshua N. King, Jr. submitted his resignation effective immediately.  Council is being asked to recommend an individual to the Circuit Court to fill this vacancy.

 

Rev. King submitted his resignation in order to serve on the Citizens' Engagement Advisory Review Commission (CEARC). Individuals who serve on the Board of Zoning Appeals are ineligible to serve per Hampton Zoning Code 13-1.  "Members of the board shall hold no other public office in the city except that one may be a member of the Planning Commission."

 

 

There are individuals in the Board Bank who have expressed a desire to serve on this board. Those applications are being provided to Council.
