Consideration of Appointments to the Citizens' Unity Commission (CUC)
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
Whalen McDew has submitted his resignation. Council is being asked to appoint an individual to fill the unexpired portion of his term until June 30, 2024.
Rebecca Hart has also submitted her resignation. Council is being asked to appoint an individual to fill the unexpired portion of her term until January 31, 2026.
UPDATE FOR AUGUST 10, 2022
Jennifer Evans and Dr. Tamika Lett's first full term ended June 30, 2022, and are eligible for reappointment until June 30, 2026.
Mei Stukes has served two consecutive terms and is not eligible for reappointment. Council is being asked to appoint an individual until August 30, 2026.
The board is recommending the removal of Justin Carolina for failure to adhere to CUC bylaws. Council is being asked to appoint an individual to fill his unexpired term until June 30, 2023.
There are individuals in the Board Bank who have expressed a desire to serve on this board. Those applications are being provided to Council.
