Consideration of an Appointment to the Peninsula Agency on Aging (PAA)
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
We recently received the resignation of Mr. Lewis Dawley, effective August 1, 2026, due to health reasons. His current term concludes on September 30, 2026.
Mr. Lewis Dawley, whose term would expire on September 30, 2026, has resigned. Council is being asked to appoint an individual to fill a new term which will expire on September 30, 2029.
PAA's Board of Directors is comprised of eight board members who are appointed by local governing bodies, one representative from Riverside Health System, the Chair of the Advisory Council, and the Chair of the PAA Endowment Foundation. The President & CEO of the PAA, Inc. serves as an ex-officio, non-voting member. Additionally, at its discretion, the Board may appoint a member with financial expertise, a member with housing and real estate expertise, and an attorney.
There are individuals in the Board Bank who have expressed a desire to serve on this board. Those applications are being provided to Council.
Applicants Currently Serving on Other Board/Commissions:
Robert Guerin currently serves on the Athletic Hall of Fame until March 31, 2029, and the Hampton Senior Citizens Advisory Committee until March 30, 2030
Edward Ebere Eule currently serves on the Hampton Senior Citizens Advisory Committee until May 30, 2029
Kathryn Wiesmann currently serves on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board until April 30, 2027, and the Social Services Local Advisory Board until December 31, 2026
Quincy Byrd currently serves on the Social Services Local Advisory Board until March 31, 2029
Joya Tynes currently serves on the Golf Course Advisory Committee until January 31, 2027
