Property Maintenance and Zoning Enforcement
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The Property Maintenance and Zoning Enforcement Division is tasked with enforcing the Codes that protect the health, safety, and welfare of Hampton's citizens. However, many people are unaware of what this division can actually enforce, as well as the lengthy timeline that sometimes accompanies resolving a violation. This presentation is meant to help the Council and the public better understand the role of the Property Maintenance and Zoning Enforcement Division, and the challenges that exist in resolving compliance issues in a timely manner.
