Resolution Authorizing the Transfer From the City of Hampton to Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority of Property Identified as LRSN 1004044 (100 Maple Avenue) Containing an Approximate Total of 0.13 ± Acres (5,795 ± Sq. Ft.)


Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The City owns a certain parcel of land currently consisting of 0.13 ± Acres (5,795 ± Sq. Ft.), being identified as LRSN 1004044, which is commonly known as 100 Maple Avenue (the “City Property”). Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority (“HRHA”) has received an inquiry regarding interest in the property for residential purposes. The City Council has designated HRHA as the agency to implement the City's Community Plan as it relates to residential development. Transferring the Property to HRHA is consistent with this policy. HRHA has agreed to dedicate to the City a portion of the City Property for public right-of-way. A deed of dedication to the City will be recorded immediately following the recording of the deed transferring the City Property to HRHA.

WHEREAS, the City of Hampton (“City”) owns a certain parcel of land currently consisting of 0.13 ± Acres (5,795 ± Sq. Ft.), being identified as LRSN 1004044, which is commonly known as 100 Maple Avenue (the "City Property”);

WHEREAS, Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority (“HRHA”) has received an inquiry regarding interest in the property for residential purposes;

WHEREAS, the City Council has designated HRHA as the agency to implement the City’s Community Plan as it relates to residential development;

WHEREAS, the City accordingly desires to transfer title to the City Property to HRHA for residential purposes in accordance with the City’s Community Plan;
