Harvard Bloomberg Fellowship Project Briefing
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
This presentation is for the purpose of briefing Council on the progress made so far on the Harvard Bloomberg fellowship project to analyze data from across the City to determine opportunities to improve public safety.
Discussion:
This project has two components: first, analysis of City data across several sources to determine opportunities to improve public safety, and second, design of a pilot program to improve public safety or data-driven decision-making regarding public safety. Council will be briefed on the preliminary results of Fellow's analysis for the purpose of soliciting any feedback as she moves forward with the remaining work.
Impact:
The briefing will outline two sources of impact for this project. First, the public safety analysis can be integrated with other work in the City to inform ongoing public safety initiatives. Second, Fellow will propose several options for pilots that integrate and analyze this data in an ongoing basis.
