Presentation of Award - American Public Works Association Top Ten Leader Award to Scott Smith, Public Works.
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The Mid-Atlantic chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) nominated Scott Smith to receive one of the APWA's 2022 Top Ten Leader Awards, and he has been selected by the APWA to receive said award.
In his tenure with the Mid-Atlantic chapter, Mr. Smith's work has included the leadership roles of Vice President, President elect, and President, and in 2014 he was asked to chair (along with eight other Public Works professionals) the Steering Committee for a chapter Public Works Institute. To date, the Public Works Institute, which held its first session in September of 2015, has provided instruction to over 300 Public Works Professionals, with 121 people graduating from its two year program.
