Training on Collective Bargaining
Purpose
From time to time, Council Members are approached by city employees and/or union groups concerning pay, benefits and working conditions. This is especially true around budget development season which we are entering. Because the state has specific prohibitions on both appointed and elected officials engaging in formal negotiations, this training will review best practices for addressing employee concerns while honoring state regulations.
