Title

Update on Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Development:  I Value Citizen Input Results and Federal Budget Update.

Purpose

PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

City staff has conducted in-person meetings and online polling on key questions about strategic priorities and the operating budget.  The online survey closed on Monday, March 20, so this presentation will not be available until the meeting.  The city's I Value program seeks to involve residents and other stakeholders to get input on priorities to the City Manager and City Council prior to development of the budget.

Additionally, the Community Development Department will provide an update on the potential impact of proposed federal budget cuts to Department of Housing & Urban Development programs. Potential reductions would impact Community Development Block Grants and HOME Partnership funded programs in FY18 that support the city's efforts to revitalize neighborhoods, provide quality affordable home ownership opportunities, support community-led youth services, and continue implementation of the rental inspection program.

Recommendation:

Rec

Briefing only today.
