Briefing on the Safe and Clean Intiative and Youth Violence Prevention
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
This briefing is an annual update on the progress made by the Safe and Clean Intiative. The first portion of the briefing will highlight some of the efforts made over the past year in the targeted Safe and Clean areas of the city as well as give a preview of some of the initiatives going forward. The second protion of the briefing will provide an update on some of the partnership efforts and iniatives headed by the Youth Violence Prevetion Office. It should be noted that the crime prevention components and statistics regarding the Safe and Clean Initiative will be covered by the Hampton Police Division in a separate presetnation.
Discussion:
The Safe and Clean Initiative operates under the belief that every citizen in the city of Hampton deserves to live in a neighborhood and residence that is safe, clean and provides an environment where that individual can reach their full potential. We also have a core belief that neighborhoods are the basic unit of action and change within our city.
