Title

Resolution Re-Appropriating Funds for a Fiscal Year 2017 Uncompleted Capital Project Re-engineering Technology Funded by the General Fund to Advance the Police Division's Real Time Crime Center Project

Purpose

PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

Traditionally, at the end of each fiscal year, all capital projects (except projects funded with Bond proceeds) that have a remaining balance are closed into the Fund Balance of the project's funding source.  In order to complete these projects, the remaining funds must be re-appropriated by City Council.

Discussion:

City Council is being asked to approve the rollover of Re-engineering Technology funds because it is the source of funds for the Police Division's Real Time Crime Center capital project.  This request is being made to move the project forward quickly and is in advance of the annual rollover request that normally takes place in the August-September timeframe.

Impact:

These funds are being re-appropriated to complete the Real Time Crime Center capital project, started in Fiscal Year 2017, that was funded with Re-engineering Technology funds .  The total amount requested for re-appropriation is $465,312.59.  Staff anticipates that this total amount will not be needed for the Real Time Crime Center project, but it represents the total amount that is housed in the Re-engineering Technology account.  Any remaining funds will be used for future re-engineering projects.

Recommendation:

Rec

Approve.
