Resolution Naming the Soccer Fields Located at 2417 Old Buckroe Road the Buckroe Soccer Complex
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
At the request of the neighborhood association, this resolution will name the existing soccer fields at 2417 Old Buckroe Road the Buckroe Soccer Complex.
Discussion:
Naming of the existing soccer fields as the Buckroe Soccer Complex will identify its presence in the community and identify it within the Hampton Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Services system, as well as further support the City's goal of promoting youth sports.
Impact:
Naming as the Buckroe Soccer Complex will not require anything above the existing level of funding.

WHEREAS, Hampton City Council recognizes the need for public park and athlethic facilities to serve Hampton citizens and visitors;
WHEREAS, the Buckroe Civic League requested the soccer fields at 2417 Old Buckroe Road be named the Buckroe Soccer Complex;
WHEREAS, the soccer fields at 2417 Old Buckroe Road help both youth and adults lead active lifestyles; and
WHEREAS, naming the soccer fields the Buckroe Soccer Complex will identify their presence in the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia the existing soccer fields located at 2417 Old Buckroe Road will from this day forward be named and known as the Buckroe Soccer Complex, to be recognized with appropriate signage.
