Update on Rental Inspection Program
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The Rental Inspection Program was adopted by City Council in 2013 in an effort to help insure well maintained and safe rental housing for Hampton Citizens. The program was implemented in phases with the first four rental inspection districts coming on line in 2013 with the next four in 2014. Since that time, two additional districts have been added: Fox Hill Mutual Homes and the North Phoebus District expansion.
Given that some of the properties that were inspected and issued their initial 4 year permits are coming up for renewal, it seemed appropriate to give City Council an update at this milestone in the program.
