To Recognize Councilwoman Teresa Schmidt for her dedicated service to the Hampton City Council and the City of Hampton.

To approve the Resolution in Recognition of Teresa Schmidt for her dedicated service to the Hampton City Council and the City of Hampton.

Body
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Teresa Schmidt was born and reared in the City of Hampton, Virginia, and has remained a resident in the City all of her life;

WHEREAS, she is a graduate of Kecoughtan High School;

WHEREAS, she is a 1985 graduate of Old Dominion University, where she majored in Computer Science and minored in Interpersonal Communications;

WHEREAS, Councilwoman Schmidt is a member of Chi Omega, a women’s fraternal organization known for providing a steady, consistent guide for its Sisters to create a path of purpose and success;

WHEREAS, she has been the Assistant Administrative Director and Treasurer of Community Presbyterian Preschool since 1994;

WHEREAS, she is very active in the community and has served numerous groups and organizations including the Planning Commission; Hampton Tourism Advisory Committee; Freedom Life Church, covenant partner; Hampton Roads Ecumenical Lodgings and Provisions, Inc. (H.E.L.P.); Peninsula Early Childhood Education Administrators; Community Presbyterian Church; Habitat for Humanity; Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC); and Hampton Grievance Committee;

WHEREAS, she also serves as the Hampton City Council Liaison to the Cultural Alliance of Greater Hampton Roads, Virginia Municipal League Environmental Quality Committee, Hampton Clean City Commission and Hampton Federal Area Development Authority;
