Resolution Authorizing the Transfer of $185,000 in the Capital Projects Fund from the Sussex Sidewalk Completion Bond Project to the Transportation Initiatives Bond Project
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the Sussex Sidewalk Completion Bond Project was to complete the sidewalks (Clyde Street and Roads View Avenue) in the Sussex neighborhood. Completing that sidewalk project is one of the priorities outlined in the Sussex Housing Revitalization Plan, which was adopted by City Council on June 18, 2008.
Discussion:
In accordance with the City’s adopted Capital Improvement Plan (“CIP”), the final phase of this project was to complete the sidewalks at Clyde Street and Roads View Road in the Sussex neighborhood. The targeted funding was used to accelerate road repairs\resurfacing schedules, as warranted, in addition to the improvement of arterial and collector roadways with poor pavement conditions. Upgrades were also made to guardrails on the bridge-end treatments that were identified as being substandard during bridge inspections. The remaining funds can be best used if transferred to the Transportation Initiatives Bond Project to fund additional capital improvement projects.
Impact:
There is no impact on the City’s fiscal year operating budget, the transfer will fund project design plan review, management\inspections, reproduction cost of plans and any required advertisements.

WHEREAS, the City’s Council approved Fiscal Year 2019 Capital Improvement Plan included funding for the Sussex Sidewalk Completion Bond Project;
WHEREAS, the construction cost of the last remaining areas to be improved, which was in the area of Clyde Street and Roads View Avenue, were completed at costs less than budgeted; and
