FY 2020 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Program Annual Action Plan
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
The City of Hampton (the "City") is submitting its FY 2020 Annual Action Plan (the "Plan") for Housing and Community Development which covers the FY 2019 - 2020 timeframe.
Discussion:
The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") annually awards CDBG and HOME funds to the City to develop viable urban communities by providing improved housing, suitable living environments and economic opportunities for those in the low-to-moderate household income bracket. The City uses these funds to complement other resources for implementing the Hampton Neighborhood Initiative. The Plan includes utilization of funds received from HUD that will impact 30 homes.
Public hearings will be held on April 24, 2019, and May 1, 2019. The first public hearing is to receive public comments on the Plan and the second public hearing is to seek Council's approval to adopt the Plan. The Plan is available for public examination in the Housing and Neighborhood Services Division of the Community Development Department located at 22 Lincoln Street, 5th floor, Hampton, Virginia 23669 and online at www.hampton.gov/neighborhoods.
Impact:
Public comment is sought on the Plan regarding utilization of HUD funds to support implementation of the Hampton Neighborhood Initiative.
