Title

Buckroe Boardwalk Study & Renovation

Purpose

PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:

The Buckroe Boardwalk requires repair and upgrading, and an extension is desired from Point Comfort Avenue south to the James T. Wilson fishing pier. JMT (engineering) has been engaged to study the boardwalk and provide information on the structural integrity of the boardwalk, as well as options for renovation and extension that will achieve desired outcomes. This presentation will review options and associated price points and solicit council feedback.

Discussion:

City Council has identified boardwalk improvements as a priority and accordingly designated money in the CIP in years FY20, FY21, and FY22. The funds for ‘Enhanced Park Maintenance and Buckroe Boardwalk Renovation’ total $6 million dollars.

Impact:

This project is a Council strategic initiative.
