Briefing on the Five Year Consolidated Housing Plan
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
This briefing is to provide an update on stakeholder outreach and a summary of needs assessment data.
Discussion:
The City of Hampton receives funding annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership programs (HOME). One of the requirements for receiving these funds is the development of a five year Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development to provide policy direction for the next five years of funding decisions.
The presentation will provide an update on the initial stakeholder meetings and a summary of the data assessment work that is being performed. Included in the data summary is an assessment of housing programs per HUD guidelines.
Impact:
The plan the results form this planning process will set the five year direction for funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that will further City Council's Strategic Housing priorities and Community Plan housing policies.
