Update on Comprehensive Violence Reduction Strategies
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
Update on best practices that have the potential to reduce violence in the City of Hampton.
Discussion:
This presentation will be an update on the planning and implementation strategies to reduce violence that were presented to City Council in the fall of 2020. This presentation will also cover the 2021 virtual Urgency of Now and the City of Hampton's Comprehensive Violence Reduction Strategy developed to provide additional resources to those who are actively participating in violence and those who present a greater risk for involvement in negative behaviors.
Impact:
These efforts support the goals identified in both Safe and Clean Communities and Family Resilience and Economic Empowerment Council Strategic Priority Areas.
