Briefing on the Safe and Clean Initiative
Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND:
This briefing is an annual update on the progress made by the Safe and Clean Initiative. The briefing will focus on efforts made by the Office of Youth and Young Adult Opportunities, the expansion of their staff, their strategies to increase opportunities for youth and young adults and their youth violence prevention efforts. There will be a presentation from our Faith Walk community partners on their efforts to address the needs of the community. Finally, there will be a presentation from the Hampton Police Division covering various topics including crime statistics, trends, police strategies and their initiatives to make our community safer.
Discussion:
The Safe and Clean Initiative operates under the belief that every person in the city of Hampton deserves to live in a neighborhood and residence that is safe, clean and provides an environment where that individual can reach their full potential. This presentation will highlight the efforts of three partners who are working every day to make that core belief a reality.
