Title
Resolution to Amend the Fiscal Year 2022 Council Approved Budget to Appropriate $18,938.57 from the Women in Public Service (WIPS) Conference Assigned Fund Balance Account to the Fire & Rescue Division's Operating Budget.

Purpose
PURPOSE/BACKGROUND
The Women in Public Service (WIPS) Conference has been hosted by its founding city and fire department, Portsmouth Fire, Rescue & Emergency Services, for ten (10) years. In 2019 it was decided that other jurisdictions would share the hosting responsibilities. The City of Hampton Division of Fire & Rescue hosted the 2019 WIPS Conference with the expectation that we would host again in 2020. Unfortunately, the pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 conference. The 2021 conference was to be hosted once again by Portsmouth Fire, Rescue & Emergency Services, unfortunately, the pandemic forced the cancellation of this conference as well. The 2022 conference is now on track to be hosted by the City of Portsmouth and they have requested the remaining revenue funds be transferred to them to cover expenses for the conference.

IMPACT

There is no monetary impact to the City of Hampton. Funds which were generated by the conference were used to support the expenses for the 2019 conference. All remaining funds are to go to the next jurisdiction to help host the 2022 WIPS Conference (in this case, Portsmouth).
